This Thursday was a holiday in Germany, so we made a short trip to Qudlinburg, a well-preserved medieval town with lots and lots of half-timbered houses (Fachwerkhäuser). While the houses are indeed fascinating, I found the roofs and roof tiles to be even more interesting.
